A message from Musica Sacra's Board of Directors

Musica Sacra of Sarasota is honored to join the list of our region's arts organizations adhering to the following standards of #SafeArtsSarasota:

  • All patrons aged 12 and older attending a performance indoors must show either:

    • A negative PCR COVID-19 test administered by a medical provider/official testing center no earlier than 72 hours before the time of their performance OR

    • A negative rapid antigen COVID-19 test administered by a medical provider/official testing center no earlier than 24 hours prior to the time of their performance. Home testing kit results will not be accepted for entry.

  • Both physical and electronic presentation of documents will be accepted. Photo identification must accompany the presentation of all documents.

  • If patrons prefer, CDC or other official vaccination record showing the patrons are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (at least 14 days since the final dose) may be voluntarily presented at the door as an acceptable alternative to negative COVID-19 test results.

  • All patrons age 6 and up, regardless of vaccination or testing status, must wear masks over their nose and mouth at all times while inside the venue.

Protocols will be revisited and may be revised based on CDC guidance and the evolving circumstances of the pandemic, including use of additional screening protocols. Be assured all participating organizations are taking similar and additional pandemic precautions with artists, staff, crews and vendors.

The health, safety and welfare of our patrons and performers will always come first. In addition to the protocols established for arts patrons in the #SafeArtsSarasota initiative, Musica Sacra of Sarasota has the following policies in place for its performers:

  • Singers are to be masked during weekly rehearsals, even while singing.

  • Singers will have their temperature taken prior to each rehearsal.

  • Singers who feel ill before any rehearsal are to stay home and attend rehearsal via Zoom.

  • During performance singers must be masked when entering and exiting the stage.

  • During the final rehearsal as well as during the performance singers may remove their mask while singing. Masks must be put on during breaks in performance.

  • Each singer will be assigned her/his personal space. Singers will be socially distanced to mitigate the spread of aerosols.

  • Orchestra members will be at least 12 feet from any singer.

  • Orchestra members will each have her/his own stand.

  • Orchestra members will be socially distanced by at least 6 feet. (No sharing of stands.)

  • Masking of instrumentalists will follow the standards employed by the Sarasota Orchestra.

  • The conductor will be masked at all times and at least six feet from any orchestra personnel.

Every member of Musica Sacra of Sarasota's Board of Directors, it's Artistic Director Dr. Robert Parrish, and every MSS artist will always place the safety and well being of our patrons foremost. We look forward to our return to live performance and to welcoming you, albeit from a distance at this season's events.
